Project Rescue & Takeover

We Take Over Your Stalled Software Project

Your agency walked away, your developer left, or the project never seems to end. We start with an independent review of your code and lay out exactly where things stand. If a takeover makes sense, we take control safely, get your product back on its feet and stay with you afterwards.

  • Starts under NDA
  • The audit report is yours either way
  • Code and access stay with you

Does any of this sound familiar?

  • Your agency or freelancer has gone quiet.
  • Deadlines keep slipping and the budget keeps growing.
  • The app is live but crashes, runs slowly or has security gaps.
  • No one left knows who wrote the code or how it works.
  • Every new feature takes months.
  • You don't have access to your own code, servers or accounts.

None of this is your fault, and all of it can be fixed with the right first step: seeing the real picture together before anyone promises anything.

Audit first, then decide

Before you invest in a stalled project a second time, you need to know exactly what you are dealing with. That is why every takeover starts with an audit whose scope is agreed up front.

  1. Fixed scope

We share in writing what we will review and how long it will take before we start, so there are no surprises.

  2. An independent view

We give you an honest picture, whether or not we end up taking the project on.

  3. No obligation

After the report, the decision is yours. Even if you don't continue with us, the report stays with you.

How we take over

  1. Rapid Audit

We review your code, infrastructure, security and access with an independent eye. Everything starts under NDA. What we need from you: the access and documents you have; we fill the gaps together.

  2. Audit Report & Walkthrough

You see the risks, critical issues, what can be saved, and the estimated time and cost. We walk through the report together, in plain language too. You receive: a written report and a prioritised action list.

  3. Controlled Handover

We secure access in your name, document the code and fix urgent issues while your product stays live. You receive: an access inventory and handover notes.

  4. Stabilise & Full Support

Once the product is stable, we continue development on your roadmap, with a permanent team and one point of contact. Afterwards: our support model.

What is in the audit report?

  1. Executive summary: current state, the three biggest risks, our recommendation
  2. Code quality and architecture
  3. Security and data risks
  4. Infrastructure, performance and backups
  5. Access and ownership inventory (repositories, servers, domains, app store and third-party accounts)
  6. Prioritised action list (urgent / short term / medium term)
  7. Rescue or rebuild: a reasoned recommendation with estimated time and cost range

Rescue or rebuild? How we decide

We base the decision on criteria, not guesswork, and explain our reasoning in the report.

  1. When we recommend a rescue

The core architecture is sound, problems are concentrated in specific modules, the technology is current and supported, and the data model is consistent.

  2. When we recommend a rebuild

Every change breaks something else, the technology is no longer supported or patched, or fixing it would cost more than rebuilding.

  3. Most often, a bit of both

We replace problem areas step by step while the product stays live, so your users can keep working.

What we secure during handover

  • Moving the source code repository into your own account
  • Making sure you own the servers, domains, email and app store accounts
  • Rotating passwords and access keys, and closing old access
  • Taking backups and testing that they can be restored
  • Documenting the code and infrastructure

Which projects we take on

  1. A good fit

Web applications, iOS/Android apps, admin panels and custom business software.

  2. What we tell you up front

If it is a technology we don't specialise in, we tell you before the audit. If there is a legal dispute with the previous vendor, we start the handover as soon as your rights to the code and access are clear.

Protected by contract

  1. Non-disclosure agreement

Your code and business information are safe from the very first conversation.

  2. You keep ownership

All code, access and documentation we build or take over belong to you.

  3. Clear responsibility

The state of the code at handover is recorded in the report, so it is clear from the start what existed before and what is our work.

  4. One point of contact

From the audit to ongoing support, you work with the same person, who knows you and your project.

Frequently asked questions

Can you really take over code written by another agency?

Yes. Every takeover starts with an independent audit that shows clearly whether a takeover is feasible and sensible.

Will you need to rewrite everything?

Usually not. We preserve what works and recommend a rebuild only when it lowers your total cost, and we explain why.

Will my app go offline during handover?

We aim for a zero-downtime handover and announce any planned maintenance in advance.

What if things ended badly with the previous agency?

We handle the technical handover; we do not take sides in legal matters. Documents showing that the accounts belong to you speed things up.

We have our own team. Can we work together?

Yes. We can work in the same repository and process as your team and share knowledge with them.

What happens after the takeover?

Once the product is stable, we continue under our support model: a permanent team, one point of contact, planned maintenance and development.
